“Farmotel Stefania” is a boutique Bed and Breakfast in a remote Hungarian village with some 200 inhabitants. It is between Balaton Lake and the Danube River, on the way to the Slovenian and Croatian Adriatic Sea coast. Between forested hills and sunflowers valleys, streams and lakes, grapes and fruit trees plantations. Close to Gemence natural reserve and Gyulaj hunting park, in one of Hungary’s most prestigious wine regions. Some 90 minutes drive from the Hungarian capital Budapest.
“Farmotel Stefania” is created for visitors who want to take a break from a busy life; who value nature and privacy, comfort, and space. Where calmness and colorful surroundings take your breath away.
“Farmotel Stefania” has all the modern facilities of a 4-star hotel. But still - you will feel that time stopped here because we tried to restore the atmosphere of Hungary a few centuries ago. It took us several years to restore a huge house of wealthy Schwab peasant and brick producer family, with its traditional ark-made deep wine cellars. ‘Schwabs’ are people who moved to this region in the 18th century during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. But after World War II, many were expelled and persecuted by the Communist regime.
